The mini zoo in Chitradurga on Jogimatti road will host a leopard cub which was rescued at a village near Tiptur on Sunday.
The cub was among the three delivered by a leopard at a farm in Gungurumele village.
Interestingly, it was during the annual village fair that the cub was noticed. A group of enthusiasts led by Praveenkumar caught the four-month-old female cub, which was almost adult size, and tied it in a room.Local environmentalist Muralidhar informed the Forest Department, and Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Magadaiah rushed to the spot.  As the cub was exhausted, it was fed with meat and and after it recovered on Monday, it was dispatched to Chitradurga Zoo.
The mother and two other cubs which were sighted sometime back are in the nearby forests, Magadaiah added. ENS
