Carpet made from old plastic bottles makes trash look comfortable

 

 

While there is no dearth of unique carpets which you can adorn your house with, designers at We Make Carpets have put together a one-of-a-kind carpet for a one-of-a-kind location in the Moroccan Desert that is made using recycled plastic bottles. The Dutch collective, which specializes in carpets from unique materials such as pasta, candybars and even nuts and bolts, created this unique carpet from plastic bottles for this year’s Taragalte Festival.

Made using hundreds of plastic bottles of different shapes, sizes and makes, the carpet features a unique pattern, encouraging visitors to look at waste in a completely different way. The lack of recycling infrastructure in the country means that plastic bottles clog drains and make life difficult for the residents and also endanger wildlife. Turning plastic bottles into something unique and creative helps solve the purpose, till the time proper infrastructure is set up.
