incident has come close on the heels of several other incidents of
camels turning violent and harming their owners in the state.

The owner was giving the animal fodder when it suddenly turned violent. "It was quite unexpected as the camel had been with Deva for years. The camel put Deva's head in its mouth and then smashed him to the ground. His neck was broken and he died on the spot," the officer added.
Some villagers saw the incident and immediately rushed Deva to a hospital. However, doctors declared him brought dead. Senior administration officials too rushed to the spot. The camel was taken away by local municipal employees. The police handed over Deva's body to family members after postmortem.
