Weekly monitoring of Ganga, Yamuna water
ALLAHABAD: The UP pollution control board has decided to monitor the water quality of Ganga and Yamuna on a weekly basis. They would conduct weekly test and analysis of the quality of water.
Regional officer, UPPCB, Allahabad, Mohd Sikandar said "weekly monitoring is already underway." Ganga water is being monitored at upstream Rasoolabad and Shastri bridge. Downstream it being conducted at Sangam. For Yamuna, monitoring is being undertaken at Saraswati ghat. The UPPCB teams had also monitored water of the two rivers before and during Kumbh mela. The water was monitored at five spots, including Rasoolabad, Salori downstream, Sangam, Sangam downstream and Saraswati Ghat (Yamuna).
