Cleanliness drive at Sam sand dunes



JAISALMER: To fulfill their social responsibility, the Jaisalmer police has taken up beautification and cleanliness of famous tourist places in the district. On Friday, they launched a cleanliness campaign from Sam sand dunes and cleared huge quantity of plastic and other garbage thrown by the tourists.

Looking to the tourist season in the district, SP Hemant Sharma started the drive under the guidance of additional SP Krishna Chand Yadav, led by Hawaldar Major Ranveer Singh and 125 trainees including 18 women trainees deployed at police lines at Sam sand dunes. They persuaded the domestic and foreign tourists not to throw garbage and maintain the beauty of tourist spots.

SP Sharma said that additional SP directed Sam police station in-charge to persuade visitors to not throw garbage and filth here and there and use garbage bins. SP said the police will continue such campaigns in the future too and appealed to all the residents of the district to keep the tourist places clean.
