Slums razed after Aaditya’s mangrove visit

MUMBAI: After TOI reported about dumping of debris at Versova mangroves, environment minister Ramdas Kadam and Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray visited the spot on Monday afternoon.
Authorities sprung into action and demolished several shanties erected on the mangroves. A plan has also been chalked out to remove the debris from the site soon.
Tweeting about the visit, Thackeray said, "I visited Versova Mangroves facing debris dumping, along with Environment Minister Ramdas Kadam ji, @shaileshphanse ji, @ashokepandit ji. Minister Kadam ji has given instructions for action against whoever has been dumping the debris and asked the authorities to remove debris. As per the plan, strict action should be taken on those dumping debris, to set and example to those who try to destroy Mumbai mangroves."
