Children run out of examination hall after spotting snake on ceiling

COIMBATORE: Over 80 students of a primary school at Pichanampalayam near Gobichettipalayam ran out of their examination hall screaming, on Wednesday afternoon, after a few students cited an eight feet long snake in one of the class rooms. The snake was seen moving across the ceiling. The incident occurred around 3 pm.
Headmistress M Poovarasy and other teachers had consoled the students and told them to go home. The local Assistant Educational Officer (AEO) immediately deputed a professional snake catcher but the reptile disappeared by the time he reached the school. Despite a thorough search through the premises, they were unable to catch the snake. The catcher will continue his search on Thursday.

While the teachers believe that it could have been a venomous snake, the educational officer declared a holiday for the school on Thursday. The exam will be postponed to another date
