Tiger kills woman in Usarpar forest
Chandrapur: Tiger killed a woman in jungle near Usarpar in Saoli range on Sunday afternoon. Villagers discovered the mutilated body of victim AnusayaShende
late in the evening. Tension mounted at the spot as several villagers
crowded the area and no senior forest officer dared to go there.
Sources informed that Anusaya had gone to the jungle to collect firewood in the morning. When she did not return till late in the afternoon, the villagers went in search of her. They searched the place where she had gone for firewood and discovered her mutilated body in the shrubs. Many villagers had gathered at the spot by the time local forester and guard reached the spot. People blamed the tiger in the area for the attack.
RFO Pattiwar of Saoli range had not reached the spot till filing of this report. Pattiwar confirmed the incident, but denied giving details claiming ignorance. DFO of Chandrapur division Vipin denied of knowledge of the incident.
