Forest department to start national level training academy

PUNE: The state forest and rehabilitation minister Patangrao Kadam said that a national level training academy will come up at Kundal village in Sangli district to provide advance training to officers and employees in the forest department.

"Establishment of such academy in the state was necessary", said Kadam while speaking at a recently held function in the city.
Kadam said that the state was still to have such academy. With absence of advance training centre in the state the officers and employees in the forest department are going to other state to take up training. The government therefore decided to establish the forest academy of administration development and management at Kundal. The academy's building will be inaugurated next week, he said.

Kadam said that government has taken some vital decisions pertaining to welfare of the staff members in forest department. The government has also decided to establish forest tourism academy at Chikhaldara in Amravati district.

Kadam also distributed awards to villages ranked first in the competition for their efforts taken to save trees. Awards were given under the Sant Tukaram Vangram puraskar. He appealed villagers to put efforts to save forests and trees. Kadam also inaugurated the forest rest house.
